I've got to say that while I was originally pissed off as hell,
I've been watching "over the air" digital for a bunch
of months now and it's much, much better, than
the legacy analog.
I'm not happy about the games and kickbacks and
handovers [a], and triply so about the way the cable
companies are going to make a fortune, but the
genarl concept of an analog -> digital switchover
makes sense.
[a] especially since the license holders of individual
"channels" now get three or thereabouts broadcast
streams to play with.
