Most of my older unactivated ones go that way. The various cellphone
drives "for the troops" at my kids' schools cleaned out the real relics.

I have active (but largely unneccessary) prepaid accounts in most of the
current ones that I use for various nefarious purposes, i.e. pass them out
to my kids at the mall for "corraling the troops" if we separate, loan them
to visiting friends and family when they drop by for a ski trip (although
that need has been lessened since AT&T and Verizon started working in my
subdivision over the last year or two) or use the prepaid numbers instead
of my home phone when selling things in classified ads.
