Default Problems with a K800i

It's difficult to say whether there's a hardware or a firmware
problem.

Have you tried swapping SIMs to see if the problem follows the
phone or the SIM? I expect it'll follow the phone, but we're
guessing more until we know for sure.

It sounds like a problem with the T3212 location update timer,
which periodically says "here I am" to the network. If the
network doesn't get a fresh update within the period it
specifies (T3212 is a parameter broadcast by the network), then
the network marks the number as absent.

Is the phone just being kept somewhere overnight where there's
no signal? It should quickly recover from that situation,
however.
