Nope. I was at sea. Some of our friends were coming into Charleston
from Tortola, bringing back a 40' Jeanneau sloop that belongs to another
friend....poor baby....who just HAD to fly to Vegas on "business" for his
billionaire boss, yeah, right...

So, we commandeered a yacht and sailed out into the Atlantic to surprise
them, which we did. The at-sea ceremony caused a storm of a party in a
great 18-20 knot breeze as the two boats impromptu raced for the
centerline marker bouy used by local racers just off The Battery with
every rag she could stand as tight as a string. The rigging groaning
under the strain, our crew handily hit the bouy a full 90 feet ahead as
the ceremonial gun went off.

The incoming crew had great fishing about 220 miles out in the Gulf
Stream catching several really nice Mahi-Mahi on sail trawled tackle.
These fresh Atlantic fish were nicely filleted by the time the boats were
docked, and after some powerful Caribbean libation completely smuggled
past Homeland Security, the fish were grilled to perfection on the over-
the-rail gas grille aboard the Amel ketch belonging to one of the
incoming offshore sailors.

An amazing array of fine wines and Tupperware full of complimentary
dishes completed the after-race feast and both crews enjoyed the usual
bragging and teasing as gallons of COOH radical enhanced beverages, in
various forms, were consumed until quite late.

What a great weekend...everyone back from sea safe and sound....and noone
staggered off the dock into the harbor THIS TIME!

Now.........were were we?.....hee hee...(c;
