Whats up with Alltel and Qualcomm and Broadcom?

Wrong attitude towards customer service. If you DON'T call, someone may
lose their job! Look at it as doing them a favor calling and giving them
something to do. You're no bother, at all. I bothered them this morning
to order unlimited data, now that SC has EVDO broadband across Alltel. I
re-downloaded Axcess TV from the apps catalog to my E815. Man, that has
changed! There's tons of channels to watch! Too bad it STILL dumps you
every 10 minutes to ask you the stupid, "Continue Watching TV?" forcing
you to reboot the channel on unlimited data service...an obvious denial
of service attack on the customers. But, it is what it is and is MUCH
finer than watching stupid video clips on Verizon!

The sweet young thing who put unlimited data on my service this morning
didn't seem "bothered" at all......but she "bothered" me with that sweet
voice....(c;

I have read that Alltel (I know Verizon is already working
with Broadcom), is considering its options. I haven't heard any
updates about what they are considering in reguards to the CDMA
fiasco. I am an Alltel and T-Mobile customer and I personally am
rooting for the GSM side. but.... Well, I still got two years left to
go with Alltel. If they go GSM... GREAT! unlocked phone on standby for
new Sim card.
Now I know of the ban and it affects sales of new WCDMA phones
as well.
I actually do like the T-mobile service too, right now I am a
prepaid customer with them. I am still considering leaving Alltel as I
like the SIM card idea, great for having a few phones and being able
to change my phones as my mood dictates, without bothering Customer
service everytime. My old Nokia 6340I works like a champ. and my old
Nokia 6255I (alltel) is a broken hinged basket case.
Since Nokia left the CDMA arena, new phones are not being
produced. I like Nokia bar phones, no hinges to break, my choices are
either older CDMA units, such as my Nokia 3585I. or go GSM and find
newer ones.
If anyone has an idea of what is going on, even if its a
tidbit from their Investor relations newsletter please pass it on! The
suspense is driving me nuts!
