How To Build Something From Nothing?
Crane Operator is probably between the tool pusher and the driller. He
runs the roustabouts, and runs the crane as well. Crane operators work
an average of 37 hours a week, usually Monday to Friday. Their working
day can involve early mornings and late finishes. Although operators
work inside the crane cab, they are exposed to varied weather
conditions and temperatures. The work can be strenuous and involves
working at heights. Operators must be fit. But before to be able to
work as an operator they should have at least a crane operator
license, in every crane operator they possess a license in that way
they can operate a crane. No specific academic qualifications are
required, although knowledge of vehicle engineering and grades in
English, maths and technology may be an advantage. Entrants must be at
least 18 years old to operate a crane, but training can start at 16.
It is possible to train through an Apprenticeship. Before receiving a
crane operator license, crane operators are required to attend 40
hours of formal classroom instruction on crane operating safety,as
outlined in the NAVFAC P-306.
A crane operator license is issued on the Construction Equipment
Operator License, and will indicate the make, model, capacity, and the
attachments the operator is qualified to operate. Operators requiring
more on-the-job training with cranes can be issued a training license
for a period of 30 days. The trainee must be under the supervision of
a qualified crane operator. The training license must denote the make,
model, capacity, and the attachment on which the operator is to be
trained
