Looking for phones with appointment - make a call or tasks - make a call functionality
I have a nokia 6230i and use the appointment - call functionality to
remind me to make calls to follow up prospects interested in joining my
business.
This call functionality from within appointments appears to be
something specific to Nokia phones, and does not exist in the latest
microsoft smartphone equivalent appointment functionality.
I am looking for something that allows me to use this appointment call
facility but which also allows me to make notes against the appointment
which is not restricted to a single page of characters.
I was hoping that I could find a suitable nokia phone which offered
this extended functionality, but instead they appear to be moving away
from this and using Microsoft smartphone (or not so smart) technology
for appointments.
Can anyone tell me which phone is likely to have the functionality I
require. If I need to move away from Nokia then I will move away.

Have a look at third party software for the Nokia Series 60 phones like
the N70 or N80. sites like <http://www.handango.com/> and
<http://www.my-symbian.com> have numerous applications that will leave
the Series 40 Nokia's for dead.

Thanks for your suggestions Simon, but could not see anything that
obviously combined calendar with appointment make a call functionality,
althought there did seem to be lots of other varieties of 3rd party
software for the phones ou recommended.

Looking for phones with appointment - make a call or tasks - make a call functionality
Thanks for your suggestion John, but still cannot see the functionality
spelt out in Palm. Do you know if it is possible to set an appointment
up which has a phone number embedded in it such that when the
appointment triggers it will call the dial up functionality
automatically after accepting a confirm response from the user?

I don't believe so with the standard Palm software, but there are
literally thousands of add on programs available which ~may~ do this
task.
I think if you post to the alt.comp.sys.palmtops.pilot ng, someone there
may be able to help you better than I can!
