I think what he is hearing is the reminder tone but even if it is the VM
notification tone being resent, he can change that as well to something
that will be less annoying or even silent. Since he says he has no menu
options for this (VZW?) then he can do SEEM edits to turn on the missing
menu items or make the changes. Of course, he could just switch to
vibrate for the commute.
