Sorry, you said the phone was a V3. Since your on Verizon Wireless the
phone is a V3c or a V3m, both very different animals.
Here's how to make the Multimedia studio show up...
Start MPT and connect the phone. You won't see the multimedia studio
as you said so next, right click on the little phone image in your
systray (where the clock is) and select Setup, General Setup and click
on the communication tab. Click on the "Change modem" button to start
the Device Configuration wizard, click next. You should see a
"Motorola USB Modem" selected, if not, select it and click Next. Check
the "Do not automatically select the driver. Select from a list." and
click Next. Select Motorola CDMA in the left window and scroll down to
V3cm if your phone is a V3c or V3mm if it's a V3m. Click next, finish
and OK, you should now see the multimedia studio.
If you're game to do a seem edit you can make your phone report itself
as a V3cm or V3mm all the time. Look here:

The first one is the one you want but if it were me, I'd do 1 - 4 and
the 3 steps to enable the time and date menu, then scroll down for any
others that you want. Right above the seem edits is a list of software
you'll need and where to find it.
Good luck!
