RAZR 2?
There are 2 versions: the v8 (TMo) and the v9. I can only speak for the
v8 in saying that I was very disappointed. I returned it and went bacl
to using the v6 Maxx which I like very much.

The V9 is a fantastic phone, although once in a while I find that a key
press gets dropped in menus. It's relatively rare though.
The amazing battery life and noise cancellation make it a substantial
upgrade to my first generation V3 though.

There are really three versions: V8, V9, and V9m (CDMA version).
You can compare all three here:

Well I have T-Mobile so I will pass until I hear better. Maybe this is
the end of Moto.

Why are no competitors in the US going after the RAZR2 market in the US
after its fumbled launch? I saw a Samsung flip on a plane that looked
aluminum but it was noticeably thicker...

The V9 gets raves from both reviewers and users.

Are you saying the battery life on the V9 (V9m?) is good? This is the one
feature that is consistently criticized in the phonescoop reviews.

It was actually pretty decent vs my original Razr, but only while in 3G
areas. In GSM mode, it seemed to be a lot more of a pig.
Luckily we have fantastic 3G coverage 'round these parts.
It didn't appear to last as long as my Sony w810i, but the Sony lies (by
the graph you have 80% of your battery life when the percentage status
indicator is at 51%, then at 50% the graph finally drops, and sits there
until 25%, then it falls fast -- This gives the appearance of long
battery life, while side by side, it only had a few hours of standby
longer then the Razr V9)

I don't know. I have a European V9 which can only use GSM in North America,
but I haven't noticed any problem keeping it charged. I think this is
also the best sounding GSM phone I have ever owned, and it works better
at my house (a somewhat marginal signal area) than the V3 it replaced.
I promised myself I wouldn't buy another Motorola phone, but this was
the only phone I could find with all the features I wanted. I haven't
been disappointed (yet).
I don't think the GSM V9 and the CDMA V9m have much in common, however,
so I don't think reports about one say anything about the other.
