I a Motoroal Razr V3 phone. I have a 2gb memory card in the memory slot.
Three questions:
1. What is the memory limit for this phone? Will 2gb work okay?
2. How can I transfer the pictures from the memory card to my computer
WITHOUT taking out the memory card?
3. Will a standard usb cable (with the proper connectors) work okay or do I
need to purchase a special cable?

I've got a 2 Gb SanDisk TransFlash in my phone. It seems to work.

It depends on where you got your phone. If it's a Verizon Wireless
phone, you are going to have to hack it before you can transfer files
over the USB cable. Transferring files over the air will result in a
charge on your bill from Verizon but you can do it that way if you don't
mind paying for the privilege.

A standard USB cable will NOT work. The connector on the phone is a
special "miniature" USB connector. Some cameras; e.g. Nikon CoolPix 885
use a compatible cable. You can buy such cables on Amazon with a
useless copy of Motorola Phone Tools that won't work with, or even
recognize, a RAZR, for a buck or two.
I do have a usb cable with the "a" miniature connector. I can charge the
cell phone with the cable. and I can transfer addresses and appointments
with the cable.
How do I Hack the phone to be able to transfer the pictures. Or is hacking a
BAD idea?
Thanks ahead of time,
Ron

Do you have a Verizon phone? If not you do NOT need to hack it. Just go to
the picture, hit options and move to the phones memory. BUT there is NO need
to do so. It will just use up what little internal memory the phone already
has.

Google is your friend here. Use a search string of "Motorola RAZR
hack". With a bit of research you should be able to learn how to hack
your phone and the exact changes you need to make to get the effect you
want.
As soon as you tinker with your phone's programming, you void your
warranty! If you are careful to make a backup copy of your phone's
program and settings you should be able to restore your phone to its
original state if you need to. This MAY be sufficient to conceal what
you have done and protect your rights under warranty. Then again, it
may not. I've never done it myself and I have no intention of doing it.
I need a phone that works. The rest; camera, music, video, etc, is all
"window dressing" to me. Popular music usually just hurts my ears. My
interest in any sort of television or video is just about zero. If I
need a camera, my wife has a real camera with higher resolution, flash,
zoom, 2GB of memory, etc.

I asked the same question here. And got pretty much what your getting.
A bunch of links to forums. Hours of reading. People telling me to use
google. And how easy it is to hack your phone...
I got everything but a direct answer. Same as your getting...
I read for hours at different links. Never did fir a straight forward
step by step of how to do it... Just a lot of opinions... With mixed
replies. A couple people would write back saying thanks for the info
it worked great. And others would write back saying they followed the
steps and had no luck.
If this is easy as replies here would have you think. Why is there no
step by step on how to do it? Why doesn't someone that replied to this
post a step by step on how it's done...?
And there will be no useful reply to what I have written either. Just
a bunch of ragging about what I said. Nothing to address the question.
I want to thank EVERYONE for their help on this matter. It is this type of
help that makes the Internet a tool and not a toy.
Yes I have a Verizon Cell Phone (it says Verizon on the Startup screen). It
is NOT under warranty. I purchased it off eBay and got it activated for free
(switched out old phones for a newer and smaller cell phone).
So, from what everyone is saying I will need to hack it then. Is there
anything I need to watch out before I start?
Thanks ahead of time,
Ron

I understand what you are saying. I do like how people are willing to try to
help though. Like you I would prefer to have a step by step instructions. It
looks like there is a website with something close to it. I will read it and
see if I want to take the next step.
Did you ever get your phone to do what you wanted it to do?

Wrong, you got all the needed information.

Your reading skills may not be as good as some others?

There are several.

Copy all your SEEM files to a safe storage location, make copies and work on
the copies. Use Motokit to edit, can't remember where I got my copy but you
should be able to track it down. I may have got it here: www.e398mod.com/content/view/80/28/
