SIM card reader

Has anyone used Sim Card Data Recovery 2.0.1.5
with a Nextel sim card? I tried a SIM/SD card
reader and software from Zio, and it would read
the SD card fine, but when the SIM was inserted,
the computer couldn't see it. The company that
wrote this, Data Recovery Software, says on their
web site that you must use a "Phoenix type USB Sim
Card Reader and NOT PC/SC technology type". I have
occasionally seen a card reader referred to as
"PC/SC", but I have never seen a "phoenix type".
When I Google it, all I get are hits back to the
Sim Card Data Recovery site.

Other programs I have looked at are the Dekart sim
mananger, though it doesn't discuss undeleting
contact information and text messages, which is
what I am trying to do, and a program called
SIMCon from a company called InsideOut Forensics
in Norway. SIMCon would seem to do what I want to
do, but there is no email contact information for
me to ask if their program will read a Nextel card
- or is this a function of the particular card
reader, and not the program?

Any information on any of these programs, or
others, and which card reader works will be
appreciated.
