Nokia PC suite, Vista and internet problems

I installed Nokia PC suite 6.84 on Vista, and now Internet Explorer
does not work. I installed Firefox and it doesn't work either. I can
still receive emails and Skype works, and I am connected to the
network. When I use any of the diagnostic tools I'm told that I am
connected and everything should be honkeydory but it's not.
Suggestions, anyone?
