Product Description
While most new cell phones these days are capable of playing music,
the Nokia 5700 is uniquely dedicated to keeping you in tune with your
favorite songs and albums while also providing a mobile communications
powerhouse. The bottom half of the phone, which includes the keypad,
has a 270-degree twisting design. Twist it 180 degrees activates the
music player and provides access to the multimedia playback keys,
while twisting it 90 degrees (either toward you or away from you)
activates the 2-megapixel camera. Other features include Bluetooth
connectivity, 35 MB of user memory, expansion via MicroSD memory
cards, and up to 3.5 hours of talk time. It communicates over GSM/GPRS
networks and offers data service via the EDGE network. This unlocked
phone does not come with service or a SIM card.
The Nokia 5700 adds a new twist with its unique keypad. Twist it 90
degrees to activate the 2-megapixel camera...
....or twist it 180 degrees to reveal the multimedia playback buttons
(wireless headset not included).
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service
provider and it provides tri-band connectivity (900 MHz, 1800 MHz,
1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you
provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider. This
phone comes with a one-year warranty from a third party provider.
The 5700 provides the ultimate music playback experience from a mobile
phone. You'll be able to play virtually any file, thanks to
compatibility with MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, and M4a as well as
secure WMA songs purchased from Internet music stores. It comes with a
pair of wired headphones (3.5mm jack), and you can share your music
with those around you using the integrated stereo speakers. It also
offers Bluetooth stereo audio support, enabling you to enjoy your
music without any wires. Listen, create playlists, and manage your
music within the 5700--you can also share playlists with your friends
over Bluetooth, MMS, or email
Other music-related features include up to 10 hours of playback time,
album art display and audio visualizations, and enhanced audio
controls (5-band graphical equalizer, stereo widening, loudness, and
balance). Store up to 1500 songs on an optional 2 GB microSD card.
You'll also be able to listen to your favorite radio station with the
integrated FM tuner.
The 2-megapixel digital camera captures still images up to 1600 x 1200
pixels--great for 8 x 10-inch prints. The camera includes a built-in
flash, a 4x digital zoom, and a panorama mode that allows you to take
panoramic photos up to 5 images wide. Watch photo slideshows and
videos (MPEG4-SP and MPEG4-AVC, up to 15 frames per second) in
landscape mode on the 2.2-inch QVGA display, which offers a 320 x 240-
pixel resolution and up to 16 million colors. Other features include
automated video production, video call capability, video and still
image editors, and video clip sharing.
Getting on the Internet is easy with the 5700. It supports the GPRS
data protocol, as well as high-speed EDGE wireless data service and
UMTS (UMTS/WCDMA 2100 MHz) 3G wireless broadband. (Note that 2100 MHz
service is not offered by any U.S. carrier at this time.) The 5700's
innovative built-in Web browser, one of many enhancements included
with the device's Symbian operating system--known as Series 60 9.1
Version 3--offers full HTML viewing as well as support for page
zooming, CSS, JavaScript and other technologies that will bring you
very close to a desktop PC browsing experience.
The 5700 offers a full range of email, text, and multimedia messaging
options. It includes support for IMAP4, POP3, SMTP, IMAP IDLE, OMA
email notification, and MIME, plus support for attachments such as
