Speed Camera Detector on N95?
Hi,
I've been told that there is a way to turn my Nokia n95 into a speed camera
detector, can anyone tell me how to do this?
Sorry, couldn't resist. I was reading the old FAQ that I used to write for
alt.cellular.nokia.ringtones on the Wayback Machine and saw this, then
remembered that we used to get asked this question ALL the time (albeit
about the 5110 and the 3210).
Well, to be fair, you probably can do it these days what with the n95 aving
built-in Sat Nav. Who'd have thought it hey?!
Blast from the past for some of the oldies on here!

Re: Speed Camera Detector on N95?
There are a few applications out there that can do this, I know that
Wayfinder has one
http://www.wayfinder.com/products/wa...p?link_id=spot
However I do not know of any freeware ones.
Aslo Wayfinder Navigator has a warningsystem for speed-cameras. Before
you buy, be sure to see what coverage-areas they have (since it's not
guaranteed that they have every single speed-camera in their
software).
But of course, the best way to not get caught in a speed-trap, is to
STOP SPEEDING!

My post was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Some of the users of this NG who's
been here a good few years will hopefully see the joke!

Hey rich, long time no see!
How the hell are ya?
I was reminiscing the other day, when I posted the initial msg in this
thread and was thinking of some of the old skool-ers from
alt.cellular.nokia.ringtones people like me, you, Henk (who still posts in
THIS ng I believe), Doc-H, Chewie, Duncan Clarke, Paxx, MikeY, etc etc.
That then prompted me to read the archive.org cache of my old FAQ for that
NG:
<http://web.archive.org/web/20030124014302/http://www.monkeysnet.co.uk/faq/faq.html>
(mind the wrap).
Happy days...!

Likewise.

Same as ever I'm afraid, just a little greyer.

Yes, the group was far more vibrant back then with quite a few helpful and
knowledgable posters who always seemed ready to help.
A lot of us have moved on since then, and personally I wouldn't want to move
back to a Nokia handset, but it is useful to keep up when you're in the
trade.
