Default Nokia 6030 messages >>to phone book

Tmobile has a sw service that sends your phone numbers to your
addressbook. It just shows up as a message on your phone and somehow
ends up in the phonebook.

I would think that I could send this same message to myself from my
own email. To make it would work must take a specific sequence of
control codes in the message. Anyone know where to find out how to do
this yourself without using the tmoblile service?

I guess the other way would be to buy one of these cable usb gadgets.

tks

I have a Nokia 6061, which I think is just the Cingular version of the
6030. I bought a USB cable on eBay. It will let the computer see the
phone as a drive, but software to edit the phone book will not work with
this phone. Iąm told by the author of the Oxygen Phone Manager that I
need a cable that connects under the battery, but he provides no
information on how to obtain one.

I was able to edit and back-up the address book on my previous phone
with the Nokia software, I really miss that capacity with this phone.
Had I known I couldnąt do it, I probably would have bought a different
phone.

It *is* possible despite Nokia's efforts to make things difficult, and
both the cable and software for the 6030 can be found on my site (it
sounds like you'll be looking for Pro Suite or just Mobius):

http://www.logomanager.co.uk/php/myp...ia&series=6030

I know you don't have a cable yet, but the demo version of Pro suite is
at:

tks Mike, its interesting how you Brits seem to figure out this cell
phone stuff first. Then again these things are designed in Europe.

It has nothing to do with the design being European, we're just damned good
at inventing and letting the rest of the World exploit our creativity :)

I didn't, it's still my native language with as little Americanisation as
possible :)

I was kidding of course .. Your English is the correct English .. besides, I
love the spellings and use them whenever I can ...

EXAMPLES:
flavour << >> NOT flavor
theatre <<>> NOT theater

Diane

not to mention your country has Robert Plant
