E61 short route to call & security notes!

Hello group

I had a quick look at a clients E61 today who complained that:

Question a)
they had to click 5 times to dial a stored contacts. The E61 promted
"to call" "voice/internet" call and so on. So the question is - what
is the shortest route to calling?

Question b)
there was no obvious way to secure passwords stored in notes. She
reminisced to the days of her palm when he had the option of hiding
sensitive entries and can't find anything similar.

I only had limited time to investigate her claims and in that time had
to agree with her.

Any pointers to solutions or software greatly appreciated!
