Nokia 6260 keyboard dead

The 3 keys on the first row are dead and I can't even get through to
unlock the keyboard in order to get info out of the phone. I've tried
removing the keypad and pushing the bubbles underneath, but they don't
operate either. This started two months ago when in Thailand -- took
it to Nokia Care to have the on-off switch replaced which they said
required a complete new cover. After picking it up, found the charging
light didn't work so took it back and was told I would need a new board
at a cost of US$57 which I didn't believe was worth it. Within another
two days this first row started failing -- for example, hit number 1
several times and finally it would work. This failure was only
occasional. Then two days ago it stopped completely.

Cannot obtain service on this phone in the USA. Does anyone know of a
solution to either temporarily or permanently repair these keys or at
least to open and transfer out to another phone the contacts and other
stored info?
