Default LAST ever Nokia I will own...

....and here's why.

Nokia N73 - I like it's looks, and it's menu system, and the way it
works in general. It also has a pretty good camera and nice high res screen.

BUT I'm on my 4th replacement handset now and still the same/more
problems arise.

Sim card periodically doesn't register and therefore doesn't connect to
network. USB Cable NEVER f*cking works properly, it works fine one day,
then doesn't the next, gives you 'unknown device' on occasions too.
WHY!?! This has been tested across all handsets with multiple cables,
USB ports and on two computers.

Joystick - FEEBLE cheap sh*t. Everyone, but the first handset I had this
has broke on, I treat my phone with care, none have ever or were ever
dropped.

This particular one has been back to nokia, out of the three faults
mentioned, only the joystick was repaired/replaced. Two months later and
it's f*cked again.

LAST ever Nokia for me, they can kiss my ass and go f*ck themselves as
my faith in them has shattered.

I've never owned a device as shoddy as this, my iPod, tom tom, digital
camera do not have problems, why does this suffer so - Nokia make sh*t
can be the only explanation.

Rant over!

Well, I've had mine since January, and not had any problems at all. Lots of
research on the net before got me worried about the joystick, but it's still
fine, and the phone is in my pocket all day at work, and I'm a mechanic so
it gets a bit of a bashing!

No problems with sim card, or data cable. There's been a few bugs, but
firmware updates have sorted most, and but great new features on which it
didn't have before, like stereo bluetooth.

My phone is unbranded, which I think makes a big difference. All is all, a
very happy users. Nice size, good screen, decent camera.
Looking forward to either an N95 8GB, or N82 for my next phone - Can't
decide which to get yet!

Same here. N73 has served me well. Think my next will be the N82.

I was going for the N95, but although the slider looks nice, it's just
something else to work lose. I like my candy bar N73, I can just pick it up
and use it. No slider to pull down!
If I was to complain about the N73, it's be no Wifi, small amount of ram,
and cramped keypad.
Well, the N82 has Wifi, more Ram, and although the keys look small, I don't
think I'd double press them as much, as there's more space between each key,
and I'd just press the small rectangular key.
Also has a proper flash!

I used to think the same way as you about the inconvenience of a
slider, and resisted having those types of phone for a long time.
After relenting and buying an N95 earlier in the year I find its
worked out much better than I expected. With my old "candy bar" type
phones, I always kept the keypad locked to prevent accidental calling.
When I needed to make a call I'd have to use the "Unlock *" function
to unlock it. Now, all I need to do is pull down the slider, which I
find much quicker and easier than having to unlock the keypad. Close
the slider and it locks itself again.
