Least expensive 3G + bluetooth+USB handset?

I would like to have something that is both a cell phone and a very
small computer connected to the internet. So far I've found nothing that
adequately fits that description. My Nokia 9300 has only an Edge
connection to the net, and the screen and keys are smaller than I want
for even a small computer. The E90 that I bought and sent back has a
bigger screen (in pixels--physical area about the same), but its 3G
connection doesn't work in the U.S. and the software is much inferior to
that on the older 9300. The Advantage 7501 looks impressive, but it's
very big and very expensive.

Recently I read about the eee, a tiny laptop running Linux and costing
only $400. That suggests the possibility of tethering it, or something
similar, to a small cellphone, via bluetooth or USB--I gather USB
permits a faster connection. The result would be less convenient than a
really good smartphone. On the other hand, the eee looks to be a better
computer than even a very high end smart phone.

What would be a suitable handset? It needs to connect to the AT&T 3G
network, have bluetooth and USB, and should be small and inexpensive.
Any suggestions?
