Nokia 6102i question

I've been using this phone with the Bluetooth for months, using voice
dialing via the headset, but today I tried using the phone itself as a
simple telephone. WTH??

I punch in a telephone number and the main button is SAVE, not CALL! I
then have to go to Options and then select CALL, which is at the end of
the Options list and can be reached by a single up-key stroke. That
means I have to go through three (3) keystrokes in order to initiate a
call to a number that I'll most likely never call again. I don't WANT
to SAVE the bloody number, I just want to CALL it.

What do I have to do to set this phone up so that I can punch in a
telephone number and get CALL as the default option? Or is that
possible?

It shouldn't be this damned hard!

After you input the phone number, what happens when you press the
little green L at the lower left corner of the "touch" area (just
above the keypads)? On my 6102i, that makes the call.

Embarrassingly enough, page 15 in the manual has a layout diagram.
Widget #8 (the little green L) is labeled the Call key. Revised New
Year resolution: I think I shall attempt to learn to read. They say
it's even more difficult than writing...
