nokia 3310 does display name of text sender, just number

Hi,

I have a Nokia 3310. When I go into my SMS inbox I see a list of text
messages which are displayed as the names of the people they have come
from. Just recently one contact only doesnt show the name but the
first few words of the text message.

When I go into the message it does show the name at the top of the
text.

This isnt a new name but one thats been in there for ages.

Ive tried deleting the name and number and readding, also tried adding
as a different name but I still get the same result.

The person who sent me the text says that there name does show up on
other peoples phones OK (it does as Ive checked). Also when they ring
me I see their name and not number which is right.

Its as though the part of the phones program which displays the list
of messages cant display the name of just this one contact.

Any ideas what has happened?

BTW the firmware is 6.11

For some reason on Nokias, if you have two numbers that are the same in your
contacts, it will not display the callers name.

Check and you will find you have 2 numbers the same, so delete one and all
will be ok.

HI,

I checked but I only have the one number. Also it does display the
name normally, just not when I look in the SMS inbox at the list of
messages. I checked the SIM and phone memory.
