Default Broken miniscreen

I'm new here; sorry if this is old subject.

Got a new Nokia 6126 (free with ATT/ Cingular resignup) last summer.
Took it out of my pocket four days later; it had a vertical fracture
in center of exterior miniscreen

With great local ATT/Cingular store help, got ATT to replace it.
Replacement, as they noted, was refurbished - only diff was Cingular
label instead of AT&T.

A few months later, the replacement got a similar miniscreen crack,
which quickly added a horizontal break from the center break to left
edge. It's been stable since.

Showed it to a friend, who said that happens often.

To my knowledge, never banged/dropped/leaned on/etc the phone. Carry
it usually in left pants pocket,, with coins and, usually, keys. I
suppose I might have leaned the wrong way unknowingly, but that
shouldn't be enough?

Neitherpohone operation affected; work fine and I like the phone.
Just wondered whether I had some evil touch, or whether others might
have seen this problem. Or had heard/thought/knew it to be common.

Thanks
-Brad

My 6126 is about a year old. It is in my front pants pocket with an
assortment of change and keys most of the time. The only external defect
is that the cheesy matte black finish is almost all peeled off, and the
little cover pop-open button is tripped occasionally, so that the phone
opens partially while in my pocket, usually activating the camera.

No crack or even noticeable abrasion on the miniscreen.

You must sit on the phone occasionally to crack two different screens.

Isn't this why POCKET T-shirts are so important?....
