Lost picture mail retrieved?

Hi all,

Over the summer I lost access to my Picture Mail account (and the 100
or so pictures it contained). I believe it was around the time Sprint
"upgraded" the picture mail service. A few months later I finally gave
Sprint a call to try and get the account working again. They were able
to set me up with a new Picture Mail account, unfortunately all of my
old pictures were gone.

The customer service rep said they would put in a request to get the
missing pictures on a CD. Apparently the picture service was/is
outsourced by another company, and this company has access to backups
if an account go down. She said if there were any retrievable pics, I
would get a CD in 6-8 weeks. That was 6-8 weeks ago...

Was the rep just trying to get me off the phone, or is there a
possiblility I'll be getting a CD in the near future? I've decided to
switch carriers, but if there's a chance I'll get the backup CD, I may
hold on a bit longer.

Any thoughts?
