Default Sprint Motorola Q - is MSFP installed?

I have Sprint's Motorola Q phone, and it has Windows Mobile 5 installed
on it.

In order to sync with my company's exchange server for push mail and
all that, they require MSFP to be installed. I went to Motorola's site
(link #1 at the bottom of this). It had no option for Sprint, but the
Verizon option had the Q....so I downloaded and installed that. It's
the standard Motorola Software Update. I connected my phone, it
recognized the phone, and it said everything was up to date.

So...is this true? Does it already have it on there? I got the phone
on Tuesday, so there's a good chance everything is up to date.

The error code that I'm getting when I request a sync from Windows is:
"The server could not be reached. This can be caused by temporary
network conditions. Support code: 85002003". I know the network is
up....

The error code that I'm getting when I request a sync from the phone
is:
"The server could not be reached. Please verify the server name.
Support code: 0x80072ee7".

Lastly, here's all the software information I can find out about the
phone:
Radio Version: Q2-BP_C_06.1E.OOR, Q2 Portable RIL Version 2.000
OS 5.1.195 (Build 14960.2.4.0)
Processor: ARM920T PXA27x

Any help would be super!

Another quick thing....I've been to this site:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...pushemail.mspx

The link for the Motorola Q sent me to the link I posted above....which
was no good.

It may not be your problem. It looks like it's being worked as a
network issue.

Put the network aside. My company requires MSFP to be installed. Is
it on my phone? How would I know? How can I get it on there?

MSFP was renamed to AKU. Your company is requiring MSFP / AKU 2.0 in order
to support wireless push email from their Exchange Server.

Look at the About page on the device and check the build number. Then
map that number to the matching number on this website:

http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/defaul...per.ListOfAKUs

Or, the number after the decimal place in the ROM version should
indicate the AKU version.

I listed all the software information it provides to me above, and it
doesn't mention the AKU. However, this site:

http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a...reviews&id=876

says that there is/was a firmware update to the Q phone. After the
update is complete, the following is observed:

* AKU 2.3, including push E-mail (if you have an updated Exchange
Server account)
* An improved Internet Explorer that now supports frames and
animated graphics
* A new Wireless Manager, not just airline mode
* An improved Start menu with four icons across and text captions

Now, I know that when I go to the Start Menu, I get "four icons across
with text captions". So this would IMPLY that I have the AKU-2.3.

Lastly, that AKU site you linked to above has build information in it.
My build, as posted above, was "Build 14960.2.4.0". On the AKU site,
it has:

AKU BUILD
2.3 14955
2.5 14967
3.0 15096

Note that it skips 14960, and it also skips 2.4. I'm betting that's
me. So, my phone would be:

AKU BUILD
2.4 14960

Answer solved! On to the network!!

A little off topic for the subject line, but....my network connection
was failing because I typed it in wrong. I was putting:

you.mail.server.com

as the mail server and enabling SSL. Not good enough. I had to put
this:

https://you.mail.server.com

Works like a charm now. Happy pushing!
