Default Phones with best reception?

I currently have a Samsung A820, and am not thrilled with the
reception or the fact that it's hard to punch numbers in accurately.
Not to mention that I can't even get a fitted leather case for it.

The Sprint-store drones say that all phones have the same reception,
and that changing wouldn't do any good. Yeah, right. I know for sure
that the phone I had before (A-460) had much better reception,
Unfortunately, the screen kept dying and I got tired of having them
swap it the phone out every 6 months (even if they didn't charge for
it).

So, any suggestions for a replacement? I prefer the Samsung interface
(but would switch if necessary), and I definitely want a flipphone.
Don't care about a camera --just want a durable phone with good
reception that's easy to use. Thin would be nice, and it would be
really nice if there were a bit of space between the buttons. Am I
asking too much?
..

Get a Sanyo. I suffered with Samsungs for years. Always heard good
things about Sanyo's so I got a VI-2300. Best Sprint phone I've ever
had. Holds calls in places that Samsung never could.

My last phone was Sanyo 8200 and I don't like their phonebook and menu
design, reception is kinda ok not great but wasn't the worst.

I now have Samsung A900 and I am missing the Speakerphone button <bg>

When my wife and I moved to Richmond, VA 1.5 years ago, we had
horrible reception at our house. It was so bad we even thought about
dropping sprint (we had been with sprint 5+ years and would need apx
2000 anytime minutes on another network to make up for the sprint to
sprint we would give up....this would have been a major move). Anway,
I had a Samsung and my wife had an lg. I did some research and found
several people griping about the reception. Most people seconded
Steve's response....Sanyo's offer good reception. We went to the
sprint store, griped, and they let us borrow a Sanyo. We ended up
with good reception. We decided to redo our plan, and got VI2300s.
Since then, we have had great service at our house (and other places).

Matt
