I hate myself and want to die. Someone took my pills away. What to
do?

We have 2 of the V195 not s and are very happy with them. Had problem with
one when fliped closed after turning on would occasionally hang up and had
to remove battery to clear it. Sent it in for repair.

Speaking of, any stories of success unbranding these using the
firmware foro the V197? Does the unbranding also unlock the phone? If
not, I can always get the subsidy code but probably better to do it
before loading the V197 firmware. Thinking about buying one of these as
a cheap quad band but want to unbrand to get rid of all the locked down
and crippled configuration/menus.

I guess there's a possibility most or all of the menu can be
tweaked with "SEEM" edits, but maybe not the unlocking.

Hoping someone here as first hand experience with doing the
above to share before I buy one, specifically with the 's' model T-Mobile
currently sells.

I've done it on two T-Mobile V195 phones (one was a V195s) which I use
on T-Mobile's pre-paid service.

I was prompted to do the first one when the 4info Web site stopped
displaying correctly.

On the other hand, T-Mobile's T-Zone interface doesn't recognize the
"V197" and the display and menus are screwed up, so I went back in and
SEEM-edited the phone to say it was a V195.

No.

T-Mobile will unlock your phone at no charge after you've been a
customer for 90 days. I've had both phones unlocked.

Yep, was aware of this and I just use pre-existing accounts to
unlock the phones when I receive them rather than wait. I just wanted
to skip that step of the new firmware unlocked the phone in the process.
Thanks for your info on this as the only thing I wasn't sure of was
whether or not the V197 firmware caused any problems on the "s" model of
the phone.
