Default returning customer, no contract?

I'm not thrilled with my current provider and may be interested in
coming back to T-Mobile, however I don't wish to be under contract as I
plan on moving at some point in 2007 and am not sure how their coverage
is where I plan on moving. I already have an unlocked T-Mobile phone.
Will T-Mobile only take me if they can lock me down under some type of
contract even if I don't wish to get a new phone?

I recently had a phone unlocked from Cingular and just bought the Go-Phone
SIM from T-Mobile. They had no problem with that. I wasn't able to transfer
the old number however and was assigned a new one.

I went through that about 6 months ago and T-Mobile would not give me an
account without a minimum of a 1 year commitment. I ended up doing that
but taking a free phone (which I didn't need), selling the phone on ebay,
and thus I figure even if I have to break the contract, I'm still breaking
even.

Check the personal coverage tool on the Web site and see how the
coverage looks where you'll be moving.

get a T-Mobile-to-go sim card and use it until you move. If you get
$100 card, it will last 1 year. After you use it up, you can decide if
a contract for better pricing is worth it.
