Moto RAZR V3 Backup of data
I have a RAZR V3 and Motorola Phone Tools. I can backup my Contacts,
Calendar, Pictures, Ringtones and Videos. However, I can't backup any
that have been downloaded from T-Zones. They just don't show up. Is
there a tool that will enable me to backup downloaded files from
T-Zones? I paid for them and if they get deleted or wiped via phone
software upgrade -- I don't think I should have to download and pay for
them again.

Moto RAZR V3 Backup of data
You can back it up with P2kCommander, Motokit 1.06, or P2kTools. All
are free.

Tried Motokit and all it did was say "phone not connected". Then when I
closed the main menu there was a dialog box with gobeldegook in it. Are
you sure these programs are designed to work with Moto RAZR V3 (T-Moble)?

Absolutely! I used all three when I had a v3 and v3i (I use TMo too).
Now I have a v6 and only P2kCommander has been upgraded to support it.
Try P2KCommander first. It does a better job of loading the P2k drivers
you need.
Download and run P2kCommander. Then plug the phone (turned on) into your
PC. About 4 or 5 new drivers should load and then you'll be connected to
the program. You can close Commander and then use the others if you
like.
Getting the P2k drivers loaded the first time can be tricky but the
method I described always works for me.

That isn't 'gobeldegook', it is Russian!!! (I don't have the font
either and don't think it would make a difference to me as I know no
Russian!)

Ok fellas. I tried P2K Commander. I may have gone to the wrong link
because it downloaded as a zip file with no install script or
setup.exe. I got it up and running sort of with the result that it
detected my fax modem but not my phone. The help files were in some
language I did not recognize, (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish?) Anyway, the
help was of little use as my language skills are limited to US English,
Montreal French, and tourist to Mexico Spanish. I have a feeling
installing from a zip file probably resulted in a less then functional
version of this utility.
Just as an additional bit of information, the phone is a GSM phone.
With the following:
Flex version:GSVV3XXU5TMB01NA030
S/W Version: R3443u2_G_0E.C0.17R
Technology: Quad-Band GSM
DSP S/W Version: 63353500
Hope that this helps you point me to the right app and d/l site. TIA

Just as a side note.... you ARE running at least one virus scanner on
these apps when you download them, right?

Moto RAZR V3 Backup of data
Brian, P2kCommander does not need to be installed in Windows. Just open
it's folder and run the Autostart program to get the drivers loaded.

Moto RAZR V3 Backup of data
I already have Motorola Phone Tools installed with its USP driver(s).
Could there be compatibility issues between MPT, P2K or MotoKit
preventing the latter two from properly installing their drivers?
TIA
