Default Network card

Does anyone have/use the network card? I have used Sprints and I was
very impressed. I have a carputer (laptop and touchscreen with GPS
device and software) and I listened to streaming music and video from NE
NJ to Chicago with no problems. Speed was great and connection was
fantastic even in the mountains where I assumed I was going to loose
coverage. I have not tried the T-Mobile since our company doesn't have
any and I'm not paying $200 just to test it out, especially since I am
already paying $115 for my service. I have used the MDA as a modem and
had decent service but no where near the Sprint card and I can't make
calls while on the net. The connections didn't last and the streaming
video wasn't that great. Music was fine when it was working.

I don't think the difference between Sprint and T-Mobile data service
is Sprint's data card, it is the fact that Sprint's underlying data
service is much higher speed than T-Mobile's. My bet is that a data
card wouldn't improve on the performance of the tethered MDA much,
if at all.

T-Mobile is supposed to be fixing this this year, with the rumors
indicating they'll be deploying HSDPA in the spectrum they bought
at the auction last summer. This being the case I'd hesitate to
buy any T-Mobile data equipment right now since anything you buy
now won't be compatible with the high-speed service they are
supposed to be introducing. If you wait a bit there's a pretty
good chance they'll have much better stuff available for purchase.
