Why the heck doesn't T-Mo do PalmOS devices?

Actually I just read your other posts.. you do know something about
it.. I take that back... Sorry.
Tell me... how does the phone work with T-Mo as far as the browser,
WAP, etc? I'm assuming that MyFaves isn't a topic for discussion...
And it looks like the 680 is probably my only choice.
Anything I should know as compared to the subsidized phones? I might
just go ahead and order one.

It's a full Palm, no restrictions at all, other then the lack of a
Graffiti pad (which isn't really an issue, although I did run into a
couple apps I liked that needed a special graffiti stroke to initiate
them. They have since added alternate ways of launching)

Faves isn't useful for some people. I imagine maybe quite a few. My wife and
I are on that list. :) I'll keep my M2M, thanks. What other T-Mo-specific
features are missing?

Actually.. T-Mo has sold a *lot* of phones because of Faves..
personally I like it and I use it.

Well, I'd have to extend my contract. And buy a new phone.
My wife wants the Nokia MP3 slider phone and I'm getting it for her as an
anniversary present, so I'll have to buy a new phone and extend my contract
anyhow.
But then we lose our M2M. That would be extremely expensive for us.

No worries, I was being snippy (at best)

I use a unlocked 680 when roaming in the US, the browser and other
features appear to work, although I've never tried to access T-Zones.
I am on prepaid, so I don't have access to MyFaves -- I can't fathom why
this requires a "feature" on the phone, but if that's how T-Mobile set
it up, you probably can't do much about it.
Until about a month ago, prepaid had full internet access, so I can
confirm that internet did work.

That's odd... I thought that T-Mobile re-allowed M2M with Faves (as a
pay-for option, that is).

I use it too, but only because they had the $59 MyFaves Family plan promo
awhile back. 90% of my "Fave" calling is to other T-Mo customers, so M2M
would work just as well for me.

I have a MyFaves plan without a MyFaves phone (T-Mobile MDA.)
T-Mo's requirement of a MyFaves phone to use the plan is just a business
decision (not a technological requirement in any way) and although silly,
it's their game and their rules. I snuck around it by buying a
MyFaves phone and MyFaves family plan for my wife and adding my existing
line to that account, using my existing non-MyFaves phone.
You can manage the MyFaves contacts from a PC or the phone's WAP browser
so it's not a problem using the plan without a MF phone.

They might. I hadn't heard about that.
