Why the heck doesn't T-Mo do PalmOS devices?
Anyone know? They did the one, and haven't done one since. And I
happen to *like* PalmOS phones.

For starters, the Palm OS is in a very shaky position right now.
Secondly, the last one they *DID* offer, the Treo 600, was a piece of
junk. I had two die on me within a year, and TM got several other
complaints, which led to the phone being pulled and the 650 never
being offered on the subsidized lineup.
I too like Palm phones, mainly because their browser is better,
although the latest Blackberries have much better browsers than my
7290.

Buy one, put your SIM in, get on with life.

There are numerous postings on howardforums, phonescoop, among other
sites, where people have said they had to replace their units multiple
times. If a device has that many problems, if I were a dealer/carrier, I
wouldn't want to carry it, either!

Not quarrelling with your advice to Evan, because he's obviously just
jonesing for one and in that case, that's what he should do.
That said, for a GSM user, which I assume he is given that he's
writing in this forum, the 750 or the 680 are the newest things out
there for us. Both are only available subsidized from Cingular, but
are only about $400 direct from Palm. I believe the 750 is Windows
Mobile, not sure about the 680.

680 is PalmOS Garnet v.5.4.9, and as a result, it sits in my pocket.
When I'm in the US, it carries a T-Mobile SIM, when I'm elsewhere it
carries an appropriate local SIM.

Can you run all Palm applications on the Treos, or are they restricted
in some way?

No faves support.. no t-mo-specific features when buying one and
putting a SIM in. No.. well.. lots of "nos"...
Thanks.. thought about it.. would rather ask here if anyone had any
other insights on it.. obviously you don't.. thanks for playing.

Thanks for confirming.

Well, perhaps the BBerry 8800 will be what I look at, then.
