Maybe someone here can tell me about CID resizing
I've asked this question in several places and have yet to receive an
answer, so I'll put it to this group now.
Does any data device currently available (through TM or unlocked)
provide the ability to adjust the CID display?
I have a low-vision user who wants, in addition to connectivity/data
stuff, the ability to actually see his incoming caller ID. I don't
think this is an unreasonable expectation on his part but I'm having a
hell of a time finding a device that meets this requirement.
I have played with pretty much every type of data device (though not
necessarily every model) in an effort to find one which, when the
system font is modified, retains that setting for the CID. What I'm
encountering is that while I may set the system font to HUGE with
BBMillebank and anti-aliasing, as soon as the phone rings some hard-
coded system setting takes over and the CID pops up in 6pt type.
Am I chasing snipes? I see this CID thing as a bug and I can't be the
only one, but I can't find mention anywhere of a patch or hack that
addresses it aside from a couple of threads on blackberryforums.com
applicable to 7100 series BB devices.
I have advised both TM customer support (for HTC devices) and RIM/BB
tech support that the "set the system font and CID will follow" advice
is incorrect. As of yet I have received no clarification from either
group.
Comments and device recommendations appreciated.
