Default Locked SIM PIN2 with T-Mobile pre

I have a Motorola V195s with T-Mobile prepaid "T-Mobile To Go".

All is working just fine, with a minor exception.

I was trying to make sure that I knew all the various passwords on the
thing and ended up tripping the safety blocker on the SIM PIN2 thingy.

It seems that I can no longer use the "Fixed Dial" feature. That seems to
be used to limit the dial out ability of the phone. That ability is not at
all important to me. I did try to get the PUK2 unlock code from T-Mobile,
but the support person felt that this is only possible with a post paid
account.

So, the questions:

1. Might this effect more then the "Fixed Dial" feature?

2. Could I buy a new, cheap SIM on e-bay, like:
<http://cgi.ebay.com/T-Mobile-TOGO-prepaid-pre-paid-sim-card-30-150min_W0QQitemZ320189465456QQihZ011QQcategoryZ433 08QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem>
.... and then have T-Mobile switch my phone number over to that SIM?
2a. If so, would I get to keep the 150 minutes on that new SIM?

3. After 90 days of ownership of this phone and "plan", T-Mobile is
supposed to let me unlock the phone. The partially blocked SIM should
have nothing to do with that, right?

Default Locked SIM PIN2 with T-Mobile pre

I got the 195 on prepaid too, nice phone. I didn't mess with the sim pin2
so ours is fine. If you ordered it on the web site you might call the
support # on your receipt and ask them. Did you have prepaid before? Maybe
you can do like we did and transfer the sim.

No. PIN2/PUK2 are only for fixed dialling.

If they are not even willing to give you the PUK2, why would they do
that? Btw, are you sure it's not on the sheet that also has the normal
PIN/PUK?

Don't think so.

Right. They will let you unlock your phone so you can use it with
different SIM cards, but that has nothing to do with fixed dialling as
that is a feature of the SIM card itself.

I purchased it directly from T-Mobile, so I *think* that the tech support
I called was the one and only option. No re-seller to offer their version
of support.

But I know for sure that I am not interested in using a restricted calling
list, so I think I can just let this issue rest as is. Thanks much.

It was not a case of not being willing, it was that she did not find it to
be an option for a prepaid card. The first tech gave me the PUK, which
did not work for this issue. The second (escalation) tech was aware
of this "PUK2", but seemed to only have a way to generate or look it up
for postpaid accounts. Checking over my paperwork again, but not finding
anything that has that PUK, or any indication of a PUK2.

That all sounds good, and basically what I was hoping. I can just ignore
this, or if bored, maybe I can get a T-Mobile tech that is able to find a
PUK2 for this SIM.

Thank you much for the reply/info.
