Just sunk another $50 into my PPD card and soon afterwards decided to
switch to Flex Pay. Called TM and was told that they cannot transfer
the money from one sim account to the other, and I'd simply lose
whatever dough is in the PPD account.
Now, that's the dumbest thing I've heard this year! I called them back
and spoke to a supervisor who related the same info. Told him that the
boss of the two bosses running these two departments had better get on
the ball and fix this. In the meantime they've lost me as a customer
since the main reason I need to switch is internet access with flex pay.
So guess I'll go back to ATT where I had been for years and attempt to
sell the $50 sim perhaps for $40 at a local store.

Why not just sell the $50 sim anyhow, and switch to Flex Pay? Seems to me
that there's more of a hassle in switching to a completely different carrier.

Steve, I tend to agree it's more of a hassle, but I've had it such a
short while and have scarcely used it and very few know my phone number.
Also have found everything I do with their ppd card has been a hassle.
And in my area there are multitudes of areas where they don't have
signal and ATT has. Guess this is the final straw, even though I don't
relish returning to ATT. (I had a monthly account for 3 years and one
day figured out that for the number of calls made, I was paying
20¢/call!) Think I'll try their ppd card, if it offers internet.

I wouldn't either, but as Verizon likes to say, "it's the network" - if
AT&T covers your neck of the woods better, they're probably the best choice.

It does offer internet, but at $0.01/kb. (They have a 5MB for $10/month
option IIRC, then you can pay the $0.01/kb rate on the overage.)

Almost a month later.......
Why not keep the sim as a backup???. That is what I did when I
switched to Flexpay.
