oh, probably 5, 600,000... although i know plenty of people that were so
satisfied with the iPhone, they didn't want the money, they wanted to
support more great products, so it's hard to say for sure.

about 5, 600,000, it seems you are mistaking a check for a future
purchase. everyone that owns an apple product is happy to get back $100
over the next few weeks.

apple users buy $1,000's of dollars worth of apple products each year,
so a $100 check back is great...

poor Boob, doesn't even understand the Apple Culture!

no wonder he is seen as such a fool on this forum!

but Apple users aren't poor, so simple things like gas or a mortgage
really don't appear on the radar...

are you poor Boob? since it really sounds like it...

I did! I got $135 back!

And know countless others that got at least $100 back.

Probably? Want to provide something a little more credible to back up your
claim?

So you are admitting that nobody got $100 back.

Thanks for playing, newbie.

I know folks who used that $100 to pay for most the cost of Macintosh
OS X 10.5

Me, I'll wait till April when I'll be elligible for a $199 iPhone 3G,
and by then depending on rumors of the 2009 iPhone,
I might wait even more.

I like my Sony/ericcson 300i which was free after rebate,
which I stuffed with a 4 Gig Memory Card, and a Flint-phone
ring-tone; and I love my Garmin Nuvi 360. Worked great for me
2 weeks ago as I drove from East of Sacramento, CA;
all the way to Los Angeles, with a stop at San Simeon.

It found me a Hometown Buffet for Breakfast on June 29
in San Jose.

Actually, I'm thinking that my weekly take home is probably more than you
see in a month. After all, janitors at the Apple Store make what? $8/hr?

i'm far from a newbie and if you're going start with insults then this
discussion is over.

> At no point did any of the iPhone get unencumbered compensation of $100,

who said it had to be unencumbered? they received a $100 gift
certificate, something which they did not have the day before.

> which is exactly what a check would have provided. Customers were forced
> to purchase additional products to see any of the $100.

forced? who forced them? this gets more absurd with every post.

> No customers were allowed to receive $100 compensation for the expense of
> the iPhone without purchasing more crap.

and most of them would have bought 'more crap' anyway. i know a lot of
people who used the $100 to buy mac os x 10.5/leopard which shipped
shortly after the coupons were distributed. others bought bluetooth
headsets, ipod/iphone cases, fancier headphones or other accessories.
and if they truly didn't need anything, they could always buy a gift
for someone.

I'm in love with my Magellen. It catches variations of as little as 10-20
yards (a couple of temporary lane reconfigurations have made it thought I
had left the road) and the voice command is nice for finding something to
eat while on the road. Plugged in my AAA membership info and now have all
the AAA Tourbook info available. That, in combination with my Blackberry
allows me do anything I need on the road. And the bluetooth on the
Magellen works great as well with the Blackberry- I can find a hotel or
restaurant and call ahead without having to lift a finger.

Then stop acting like one. What Apple did was no better than the good
old Verizon "standard class-action settlement" tactic of paying off the
settlement with $25 long distance cards.

Oxford clearly stated that they all got $100 back from Apple. No such
transaction occurred.

And for every one you can name, I can find 100 on various discussion
boards who did not share that same enthusiasm. Sounds like you might
need to expand your social netwrok a little.

Thanks for proving my point. I couldn't have done it better.
