Default Astoundingly High Food and Drink Prices at iPhone Park

I went to iPhone Park (formerly AT&T Park, formerly SBC park, formerly,
Pac Bell Park) on Sunday because someone gave us four tickets for a
Giants game. It was the first baseball game I've been to since the
stadium opened (though I'd been there for football). Beautiful park, but
the prices for food and drinks make movie theaters and airports look
like the Costco snack bar. $8.75 for a plastic cup of beer. $5 for a
small bag of peanuts. $5.50 for one of those Minute Maid paper cups of
frozen lemonade. Garlic fries were a bargain at $6.75.

The game appeared hopeless when the Pirates took an early 5-0 lead, but
the Giants got 10 runs in the fourth inning, and won 11-6. Verizon
coverage was good, though they tried to confiscate my Motorola phone at
the entrance.

There is free WiFi throughout the park, so Larry could use his Nokia
tablet if he comes out here, but there are no Waffle Houses in California.

We could have broadcast the game, live!

No Waffle House? Yecch. Tofu House?

Y'all boys stop by. These are my neighbors across the Ashley River in the
Old South. They've been there since the 1600's. Nice place ta visit but
kinda showy for me. The Yankee tourists love it.

What's fresh shrimp sell for in Californicate? Think we could sell some at
$2.50/pound like here? The crabbers pulled up their pots early this
morning out front of my place. Nice catch since yesterday, nearly a whole
bushel in two traps! Hmmmmmm...great eatin, Blue Crabs. Some Saturdays we
buy 'em right off the boat. My next door neighbor has the finest cookin'
equipment. Bring your own crab utensils.

The storm passed us by, this time, again. It's a blue sky over Magnolia
dis mawnin'. By California standards our pace is nearly imperceptable.
The slower the better. There's plenty of time, when you live in paradise.

Just to make you feel at home, I live about 300 yards from the fault line
perpendicular to the river that leveled Charleston in 1886!

It was a 7.3, impressive even by California standards! It's only rumbled,
occasionally, since.

Lots of those, but the name is a misnomer as they serve all sorts of
Korean food, including Korean beef and dolsot bibimbab (my personal
favorite). I never met anyone that didn't like Korean food.

They've played football at PacBell/AT&T/iPhone park? I had assumed you were
in error; as far as I knew, it was a baseball-only stadium. But of course
Google proved me wrong; the college "Emerald Bowl" (football) is played
there. The food is outrageous, but there's higher-quality fare available
than was the case at the 'stick.

Can't anyone in America go three hours without eating?
