Default Web Browser

Hi everyone.

I have a Nokia E62 from Cingular (the new at&t) and I love the device.
I have a quick question, the E62 came with two different kinds of web
browsers, and I later downloaded Opera Mini for a third web browser.

Sad to say that the two web browsers from Cingular have some sites
blocked (like MySpace.com) so they can charge you $2.99 a month to
access MySpace. I can access MySpace with the Opera Mini, but the web
browser is not as good as one of the two that Cingular provided on my
E62.

Are there any other web browsers that I can use for my E62 available?

Thanks in advance.

Ric

That's probably MySpace, not Cingular.

Opera Mini accesses the standard Web through Opera proxy servers.

My guess(tm) is that MySpace doesn't have a free open WAP interface.

They block certain phone numbers too. Of course they're not alone with
these shenanigans. Many carriers do this sort of thing.

In any case, have you tried the Doris or Netfront browser? Th E62 is S60
based, and runs Symbian, so these should work. Doris doesn't support
JavaScript but Netfront does. I don't know if either will be better than
Opera.

Hey SMS,
Thank you very much!

No, I did not know about the two browsers you cited below, I'll do a
Google search for the Netfront WB tonight when I get home from work.

Thanks!

In God's Grace,
Ric

The Netfront web site doesn't list your phone, but it might just be too
new to be listed.

Actually not, as anyone knows that's actually tested the connectivity.
Any such WAP blocking is being done by MySpace, as I noted previously.
