Default The BlackBerry is in for a bruising

The BlackBerry is in for a bruising

By Scott Moritz

Research in Motion (RIMM) takes the stage this week to preach to a
gathering of its faithful in Florida during the Canadian company’s
annual Wireless Enterprise Symposium. But just as the BlackBerry maker
seems to be reaching the height of success, its flock may well start
to stray.

Not only will followers be tempted by new devices like Apple’s (AAPL)
forthcoming business-friendly iPhone, other sect members will face
excommunication as cost-cutting initiatives sweep through the office
ranks.

Check out the full Fortune Magazine article at

http://techland.blogs.fortune.cnn.co...or-a-bruising/

While you are there also check out the related article about Sprint

Sprint’s best customers are hanging up

http://techland.blogs.fortune.cnn.co...s-are-leaving/

What famous American fruit phone has is mentioned in both stories?

Too bad so sad for Sprint and Rim.

Vic, Vic, VIC!

Look CLOSELY at this picture....No, take off the purple-filtered Apple
glasses for a minute.

Now, Iphone is second to RIM in NORTH AMERICA, a fast-becoming secondary
market across the planet. ...And, once again, RIM wipes its ass with an
old product that's been out for a long time like a Palm Pilot.

Now, let's look at the BIGGER picture away from the ATT backwards
network, with or without Starbucks this hour.....

Notice how much WIDER the BLACK band is across the graph at the TOP EACH
quarter since the graphs start, compared to that little purple slice
piled upon the more mature technologies.

Now, look at the DIFFERENCES in how tall the Red (Linux) and Orange
(Symbian) bands are from Q2 to Q3 at the right. The DIFFERENCE in
thickness of the Orange band is TWICE as tall as the whole purple band.
The DIFFERENCE in thickness of the Red band is THREE TIMES as tall as the
whole purple band!

Both Linux and Symbian smartphone sales INCREASED LOTS MORE than the
WHOLE SALES TOTAL of both iPhones or RIM products. Symbian smartphones
outsold the TOTAL SALES of Iphones PLUS RIMS PLUS Micro$oft smartphones
by 350%!

Now, put the Purple-filtered Apple glasses back on and erase the chart
from your browser before anyone else besides all of us start laughing so
hard at you....

More NEW Smartphones in Q3 run SYMBIAN than ALL the RIMs and iPhones ever
sold on the PLANET!

Ask yourself WHY?

Here's some reasons:

This is gving me a headache. I think I will see if I can past those
protesters down the street and get into Mulligans for a beer so I will
not think about Apple's foreign competition.

Norman, Mulligan's owner, is about as controversal as Larry.

http://www.ajc.com/health/content/me...gans_0514.html
Just down the street from Marietta's famous Big Chicken, Mulligan's
has carved a provocative niche in an increasingly multicultural area,
thanks to its owner's ultra-conservative political views...

Among his recent musings: "I wish Hillary had married OJ," "No habla
espanol -- and never will" and the standard "I.N.S. Agents eat free."

Oh... and his new Obama T-Shirt...
http://img.coxnewsweb.com/B/07/14/49/image_7049147.jpg

Maybe I can get him to make a Nokia T-Shirt - any ideas?

Maybe that T-Shirt should be about Nokia having a smaller screen?
Apple's is bigger than theirs?

Add to the fact, can you make a phone call or use wireless services on an
N800? And I'm not talking about it being tethered, linked, connected to a
phone.

If smaller is better for you, so be it. Size does matter...

Huh? iPhones are all tethered, linked, connected to a phone....their own
phone. Why is that different, other than airtime charges?

Yes, I make calls on the N800 over several VoIP systems like Skype or Gizmo
or your favorite flavor of SIP VoIP all the time. While waiting for my
Mercedes service this morning, I was called by someone I know in Siberia.
We were worried about someone we both know in Osaka, JP, so I conferenced
him on Skype and the 3 of us talked for about 40 minutes, using the free
wifi at my Mercedes shop they provide their customers as a service.

I could have done it if I had the new Sony Playstation Portable 2000 with
Skype, just as well.....which I think is just slick as snot!....(c;

Can you call anyone on iPhones without being tethered to a sellphone
company?
