About the browser......
No Wifi. Are you crazy? Users will be hacking it to get Skype running
on it over wifi on the cheap. Noone's gonna run Skype on it with
Verizon charging 25c/MEGABYTE! over the 5GB limit. They also won't be
downloading much, either!

I believe the Storm's browser is 'better' than the 8830 though I can't find
the tech specifics for you. The viewable screen certainly is nearly twice as
large. The Storm's broswer can also be made to emulate Firefox or IE,
something I'm sure the 8830 does not do.
No, the Storm does not feature wi-fi. But don't let that stop you. This is
an incredibly fast internet access phone with many other great features and
wi-fi cannot be missed much. I keep a wifi capable iTouch at my night table
along with my Storm and rarely do I find the iTouch's internet access
substantially faster that my Storm's 3G. But due to lack of prevailing wifi
spots as I leave my home, the Storm goes with me while the Touch stays
behind in the security of my home's wifi environment.
Get the Storm. With their 30 day unconditional trial period what do you have
to lose?

As per the forums, like Howardforums.com, there are a
decent number of complaints about the browser's function...
but nothing specific as to the cause...
The chief complain is that the browser stalls at the "Requesting....."
message when it's trying to connect to web sites.
I saw this happen consistently on my friend's Storm (which as the
latest official OS upgrade) on different attempts to different
websites, google, yahoo, cnn, and other misc. URLs

That's not the Storm's fault, the webpage balking. My Linux tablets using
its Mozilla browser oddball does the same thing. The webpages have to
notify the 375 spammers they're connected to what browser you're using so
the spammers know which of their spams will make the browser as obnoxious
as it can, making the most video noise to drag your eyes away from the
content you want. So, we show up with our queer browsers that are not on
the lists, temporarily confounding the spammers' servers as they
frantically look down the list...IE?, no....Firefox?, no...Netscape?,
no...Apple?, no and on and on and on down the whole list before it decides
your browser isn't listed, bombs out, then dumps its default spam at it.
All this takes quite a bit of time, then add to that the spam it sends.
We blame the browsers when it's not the browsers making it slow....
You can see the same delay, by the way, if you install Google Chrome, which
isn't on most of them's server list, either. It waits and waits before the
spammers finally respond, having given up trying to find that backdoor into
it to steal your stuff.

That's so funny, the internet and the web is a place of unbridled
freedoms and expression. Anyone with a voice can be heard. So much like
TV.
Last figures I saw almost 40% of people access the intetnet by dial-up
so it's still around and people should have a little consideration for
them when building webpages.....
