"NOTE: BitPim doesn't natively support the KRZR K1M, Maxx Ve, Razr2
V9M, Slvr L7C, V325, V276, or V265. These phones do not appear
compatible with the configurations used by the other Moto's, therefore
they can only be used as "OTHER CDMA PHONE", which means no phone auto-
detection, no GUI support, and only limited use of the file system
feature. To add ring tones and pictures to these phones, you may have
to use P2KCommander due to BREW file system locks."
Try the other CDMA phone option and if that doesn't work you'll need to
use other software such as P2KCommander.

Perform a SEEM edit to enable file transfer with Motorola Phone Tools. I
just did it on two V325i phones I bought on eBay, and picked up today. I
also enabled "Vibrate than Ring" which for some bizarre reason Verizon
decided not to enable.

BTW, getting Motorola Phone Tools to actually work is not for the faint
of heart, it's the most screwed up application I've ever seen.
If you have trouble getting the V325i to work, e-mail me.
I found that I have to manually configure the phone as V323i in order to
get Motorola Phone Tools to function. With the V325, you had to choose
V323m. Don't ask why! In fact there is no one to ask!

Sorry, I misspoke, you use V323im for the V325i (in device
configuration), and it will work fine with Motorola Phone Tools,
including transferring files back and forth to and from the phone. If
you choose V325i (or let the program auto-detect V325i), then you cannot
do file transfers, but the phone book can still be transferred. V323i
does not work at all.
I find that the Bluetooth actually works better than using a cable,
because with a cable it was endlessly adding modems, detecting and
redetecting the phone.
Again, remember that you MUST do a SEEM edit in order to enable file
transfer on the V325i because Verizon ships the phones with this
capability disabled (in order to sell you ringtones, and charge you for
transferring pictures). This would be the case no matter what software
application you are using with the phone.
No doubt Verizon is sad that on the phones with MicroSD cards they
haven't figured out how to prevent photos from being transferred via the
card.
Anyway, this is all fresh in my mind, since I just did it on two V325i
phones I picked up on eBay.

This is great info. I just got the Motorola W385 phone. If I pick
that phone in Motorola Phone Tools, the only thing I can do is synch
the phone book. If I change to the Z6MM phone then I can do phone,
calendar, and files, but as you point out, can't do ringtones. Do you
have any recommended web sites with directions on doing a SEEM edit?
I might try that.
