hottest vzw phones
can someone tell me what the hottest VZW phones are now or in the near
future?
my plan is up for a new phone soon...
i have the E815 now which i like a lot, never really saw the need for PC
phones as i'm usually near a computer anyway.
i went to phonescoop but that didn't really help me decide.
i tend to like motorola phones as opposed to LG eventhough the voyager is
getting a lot of press now and it seems samsung is starting to come out with
some hot new phones.
any help appreciated!

If you like it, why change? I used my Motorola StarTac for something
like five years. I replaced it with a RAZR V3m when the StarTac's
batter could no longer power the phone for a full day. Buying a new
battery for a five year old phone, even if I could find a new one,
didn't make much sense to me.

I remember years ago, when I bought the StarTac (the old basic black model),
I thought it was the coolest thing!
I gave the StarTac to my brother and can't believe that he still uses it and
hasn't upgraded.
The phone looks so retro now, but he loves it.

I have a couple of Motorola original "Ultra bricks" in the basement,
like seen in Wall Street when he was walking on the beach...
Used to carry in the back pocket of my jeans - just fit, sideways.
as I recall.... paid about $1,200 :)

I went from the e815 to a V9M and love it! It costs more than some phones
but the RF performance is very close to the e815 - which means it is near
the top of Verizon's phone list for reception. It's a lot thinner as well.

Keep the E815 a little longer if you can. Mine would no longer accept the
charging cable (a common failure I am told), so I went with a Razr2 V9m.
Very sturdy construction (although not the smallest or lightest), with great
reception (as did the E815). But it has the Verizon interface (the E815
didn't), and the normal restrictions and limitation that Verizon puts on
most of their phones in order to encourage (force) you to spend more money
with them. It looks as if Verizon is loosening up (if somewhat slowly), so
you may want to wait awhile before replacing yours. Good luck!

Why downgrade? I opted for a V3m, it's now in the box and my E815 is
re-activated.
As others have told you, you can get a phone *ALMOST* as good as the
E815 but it'll cost you so... why do it? When (and if) the E815 dies
they're available on ebay, some are brand new, never used.

Right now I'm grooming two for possible use with one of the Verizon prepaid
resellers.

thanks, i appreciate it, i really like my E815, I'm just surprised nothing
new has come out that intrigues me enough to consider upgrading.
