My truck has Bluetooth in the Kenwood DNX7100 and the E815 works fine,
except, the truck has no phone book. The Icon is 'grayed' out. I contact
Kenwood and they advise that the phone must have the capability to upload
its phone book into the Kenwood. My E815 does not have that capability.
Question:
Does Verizon have a phone that allows uploading the phone book via
Bluetooth?
I have the E815 phone and it uploads the phonebook to my BMW integrated
Bluetooth no problem.

There is no 'procedure'. Once your phone is paired with the BMW
system, it automatically uploads every time you turn the key to the
'on' position.

We are assuming the phone is pairing at all. Is Bluetooth enabled on the
phone?

The phone is paired and I can communicate thru Bluetooth. Kenwood advised
that the phone must upload the phone book to the Kenwood. There is no
option in the E815 to initiate the upload action. There is no option in the
Kenwood to ask the E815 to send the phone book. So, there I am. A Catch
22.

It isn't the phone. I have an E815, and and my wife has a LG VX5400.
I also have an Acura and an Audi, both with bluetooth.
Each phone works differently in the different cars. In the Audi, both
phones will upload their phonebooks, but neither phone will do it in
the Acura. Also, I can place a call with either phone in the Audi by
using the keypad of either phone, but I can't do this in the Acura.
Obviously, it's the car bluetooth that makes the difference.
I think it's the Kenwood system that's giving you trouble, not the
phones.

Many thanks for the additional input. I guess that I don't have a solution
for the problem.
